Good morning, my name is Alexandria, and I'm President of the Student Council. I hope the WeatherNet station will be a great success. We are very proud of our weather station. I think this will help the students learn more about weather. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Paige and I'm Vice-President of the Student Council. I am proud of the Parents Association. Without their effort we wouldn't have this. I hope that the WeatherNet station will help get students interested in science. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I'm Treasurer of the Student Council. The Student Council learned about the anemometer, sensor shelter, rain gauge, and digital display. It can give you live weather conditions and much more. You can study extreme locations of the weather. We look forward to researching the WeatherNet station some more. Thank you for coming.

Hi, my name is Marie and I'm Secretary of the Student Council. We learned about the master control unit, also called the MCU. Last week we went to the roof and took a peek at what the WeatherNet station looked like. You can just go on the internet and find the weather. Thank You.

Parents Association Co-Presidents

I’d like to welcome you all here today and thank you for taking time out from your busy schedules to help us commemorate this occasion.

The support of the community, politicians and media is an integral part of insuring the future of our children (as in the old adage, “it takes a village to raise a child”).

This weather net station is just one of the programs we have been able to offer the students through the combined efforts of the parents, principal, assistant principal and staff. The principal and assistant principal for bringing this idea to the parents, the staff for their willingness to learn, yet another, new curriculum, and the parents for the major fundraising they’ve done to provide this and other programs, such as T.A.G, music, art and the publication of Encore magazine which features the work of our students at every grade level and our full time after school program. I also have to give a special mention to Caryn, PA co president for putting all the pieces together.

I know you must be aware that this is a Title I school, which makes these accomplishments all the more remarkable.

This program will give our children hands-on experience in weather forecasting. Who knows, maybe we are raising the Janice Huffs, Al Roekers or Joe Morenos of tomorrow.

Thank you.
-Ellen Weisman

When Mrs. Cooper approached the PA with the concept of purchasing a weather station, I thought it was a wonderful idea, and great addition to our school and its science program. Now that the Weather Station is up and running, I feel it will be an instrumental learning tool. I am confident that Mrs. Clark will take full advantage of all its capabilities by incorporating the weather station into her lessons. The weather station will give the entire student body a better understanding of weather, as well as offer hands on experience.

Through additional fundraising, I would like to believe that the Parents Association could purchase one additional aspect to the weather station, the weather net cam. This camcorder would allow the children to see the pictures of the weather taken from our site. It would offer another perspective on weather.

On behalf of the Parents Association, I would like to offer our thanks to David Burger of Receptasign. David offered the use of his employees to install the weather station at no cost to us. With out his assistance, the parents association would have to pay additional funds for the installation. We appreciate his generosity.

The Parents Association would like to thank all of you for attending today. Your appearances are very much appreciated.
